DirectConnect™ Folding system
New for 2016 is the DirectConnect folding system, which removes the quick release from the top tube, provides an easier folding experience and larger clamping surface between the two halves of the frame. A flip of the quick release lever and your bike folds to a compact size.
Folding Integrated Technology
The Paratrooper Express frame is designed around another patented system that allows the bike to fold without any breaks in the frame’s tubing. Not only does this make it easier to fold, but it makes Montague bikes the strongest folding bike on the market. The Folding Integrated Technology (F.I.T.) is based around the same frame construction concepts as serious full suspension downhill bikes.

Independent Review
“In the 2 years I’ve had it, I haven’t had any problems. It’s lightweight and durable and collapses in less than 20 seconds to fit in the back of my (compact) car’s trunk with lots of room to spare. It takes up about the same space as a collapsible wheel chair. The company uses only the highest quality available parts that can be found at most bike stores, so no need to worry about your local bikeshop being able to affect repairs or maintenance as you would with some exotic brand name foldable bikes. I use it all the time. I love the affordability, the durability, the convenience and features of my Montague X50 folding mountain bike. I think you would do well to check it out if a foldable is in your future.”
—Michael A., Portland, Oregon“My terrain is Bagram AF Afghanistan – My total commute is 8 miles a day on a partially paved flat, very dusty, windy, very muddy (on wet days) road. The ride is extremely smooth on these roads and I rise out of the saddle on the rocky unpaved sections. We have one hill and I find the shifting smooth as hell. Even riding with one hand you can shift effortlessly. After a muddy ride I found the bike easy to hose off and clean. NO tough to clean places. Great bike for the average rider.”
—Anthony Glover“This is a fully capable mountain bike that folds! There is no other company that makes a product that can compare to this. Dahon full size bikes cut the frame in half which will NOT last long in hard use. The way Montague has figured out to put the folding mechanism within the back of the tube on the frame is ingenious and it truly works! This bike is not a compromise, it is a fully capable mountain bike!”
